Spiritual Reflection for Today
“They also learned, and perhaps this was the most important thing, how to look at things through the eyes of the Higher Powers.”
-Fools Crow, LAKOTA
Life presents us with a series of decisions shaped by our beliefs and experiences. Before we found our path, many of our actions were guided by impulse and self-destructive patterns. Today, we have the opportunity to view situations through the eyes of the Higher Power. Our senses may be limited, but the guidance of the Higher Power offers us a broader perspective—our Sixth Sense.
The journey toward emotional maturity begins when we acknowledge the effects of our past decisions and ask for strength to make healthier choices today. In our Fellowship, we learn to manage our reactions, checking our feelings against the principles that guide our growth. As we work together within the community, we find clarity in decision-making, seeking input from those we trust and surrendering our shortcomings.
When faced with challenges—whether it’s a member who tests our patience or a situation that riles our emotions—we can choose to practice restraint. Instead of reacting impulsively, we strive to understand that our feelings should not dictate our actions. Emotional maturity is our reward for letting go of resentment, choosing instead to embrace the peace that comes from a heart aligned with the Higher Power.
Just for today, let us ask for the wisdom to see through the eyes of love and compassion. May we use the principles we’ve learned to make conscious, healthy decisions. Together in Fellowship, we nurture not only our own growth but also the collective well-being of our community.
Today’s Intention: I will strive for emotional maturity, relying on my Higher Power for guidance in decision-making and choosing to respond with grace rather than reactivity. In doing so, I honor the shared journey of our Fellowship.
