“Awakening to the spiritual voice within is essential for our journey. If our hearts and minds are clouded by the pains and dysfunctions of the world—be it through addiction, violence, abuse, or toxicity—we remain in a state of sleep. Like the hoop of many hoops described by Black Elk, our collective conscience can become sick and we grow accustomed to its illnesses, mistaking them for normal life. But there are those among us, like the Coyote Clan members, whose purpose is to disrupt this sleep, to shake us from our slumber with relentless persistence.
They remind us that a return to the spiritual way of life is crucial. It is through this return that we experience a spiritual awakening, one that aligns us with our true selves and the greater cosmos. This awakening compels us to share our journey with others who may still be lost in slumber, to plant the seed of recovery and hope. As we walk the spiritual path, carrying this message to others who struggle, we not only aid in their awakening but also reinforce our own. In giving of ourselves, in being the light that guides others from darkness, we receive the profound gift of spiritual growth and renewal.
Each act of reaching out, even if seemingly small or unnoticed, is a ripple that strengthens the collective hoop. We can only maintain our own awakening by helping others find theirs. In this cycle of mutual support, gratitude blossoms and we become the living examples of a life touched by spirit and community. Today, let us remember to be the nuisance that awakens and the beacon that heals, walking the path of spirituality and recovery hand in hand.”
